Dilshini Mendis is a singer/songwriter with a great attitude, strange accent and a cool name who celebrates acoustic music with a mellow yet heartfelt twist. From her outer appearance you would say she is Sri Lankan, but she will assure you she is German and show you her Passport, which is as surprising and fascinating as the lyrical bite and indulgent melodies portrayed in her music.

“Reason in Madness” is the forthcoming EP, the songs of which are all written and performed by herself and are currently waiting to be recorded. A long standing dream to self release finally taking a realistic shape, ‘Reason in Madness’ will be the first EP to be published under Dilshini’s own Label ‘Nangi Records’ and will be the first to be launched digitally only, through iTunes and Spotify.
The songs featured on ‘Reason in Madness’ are already being performed, with various footage from gigs available on the Dilshini Mendis YouTube Channel, however the EP will feature the studio versions of the songs, along with collaborations with other artists with its main aim being to step away from the ‘acoustic’ side of Dilshini. “I love getting something recorded and it sounding the way it does in my head, and not being able to reproduce that sound on my own at a gig is really frustrating for me. That’s because it’s usually me and my guitar, but this will be the whole thing, so it’s very exciting. It’s finding the reason in my madness, but who needs a reason?” she says jokingly.
Although the EP is still waiting to be recorded, the wait, as she assures me, is definitely worthwhile.
